7:00pm: In the work of our live updates of the All Blacks VS Spain match, James emailed in to share his thoughts on the haka VS national anthem debate.
"So I am sitting here speaking over Skype to a mate in Aussie (he is a Kiwi, ditched 5 years ago) and we are speaking about the anthem. Came across your minute-by-minute updates and I saw "A poor hard work from New Zealand in singing the national anthem. Advantage Italy". This junk's been going on all week! The Haka is New Zealand's anthem. The Italians take pride in their anthem, because that is their iconic national "performance". The Haka is ours. And we are getting it limited by taking out the "cut-throat" at the finish, what is the world coming ? Did you notice how they had possibly 5 seconds of "live-time" on the AB's in the work of the anthem?
The rest was on fans, or the girl with the tinfoil around her neck."
Let us know what you think. Is it important to sing the national anthem loud and proud? Or ought to they let the haka do the speaking?
6:45pm: Conditions in Auckland are a bit breezy, with rain expected. Conditions under foot are nice however, which ought to permit for flowing rugby tonight.
